Desert Feet Tour is the heart and soul of what we do.
We take our amazing Truck and rugged Troopy to the most remote communities where musical opportunity is lacking. We bring back inspiring music and stories and publish these things to our Soundcloud music streaming site and YouTube channel so that we can spread the good news about the strength and power of Indigenous and culture, language and life in remote communities.
We are a charity, but really, the delivery of these services as a transaction – we exchange technical skills, access to equipment and musical opportunities for on-country education about life, culture and language of Indigenous Australia, delivered by kids and elders alike!
Desert Feet Tours can be anything from 1 week to 6 weeks long. We might travel up to 7,000km through stunning country on very lonely, isolated and hard roads. It is not for the faint-hearted and only rugged vehicles and equipment can go the distance.
People who come on Desert Feet Tours get a unique opportunity to travel through amazing landscapes, learn about Indigenous culture and language, and work with people on common projects that benefit all of Australia. It is a life-changing experience!
We’ve started sharing our Desert Feet Tour stories on this website, via a daily(ish) blog and live map of our travels – check out the latest here!
Your donations keep music alive in the heart of Australia – we are volunteer-run and very lean in our spending, so your generosity goes a very long way – every little bit helps!
